Checking information for truthfulness/reliability (2 examples)

• In June 2025, during a town tour in Rheinsberg it was claimed that the "Petersilienstraße", which still exists in the town today, used to lead to the "window hens" (= prostitutes). It was said that this was common in other towns as well. Manus AI determined that the claim is true. Under this link you can view the entire dialog with the AI on this issue.
• An article appeared online mentioning swimming squirrels. That struck me as suspect. Manus AI surprised me by not only confirming my question but additionally linking to several videos on youtube showing swimming squirrels. Here you can watch them too.

Comparing offers

Manus AI helped me compare various offers and options, for example when choosing a pressure washer for work in the yard and garden or a hand mixer for the kitchen.

Help with technical questions

• Can a folding canopy be retrofitted to a motorboat?
• How do I proceed to enter the WLAN password on the new printer?
• Which app for instant translation is recommended for an Android mobile phone?
• Which companies in the local area can modify the in-car installed technology so that navigation with Google Maps is possible?

In these and other technical questions Manus AI provided me with valuable support.

Excursion tips

Manus also helped me plan outings and leisure activities. For example, I searched for a worthwhile excursion destination that I could only leave my current location for four hours. A recommendation from Manus AI for Pößneck/Thür. was "Leuchtenburg near Kahla" — which turned out to be a brilliant idea!

Special topics and niche knowledge

Some research concerned very specialised topics. I asked Manus AI how to remove rust stains from textiles (Manus tip: with oxalic acid). I also wanted to know whether wastewater treatment with xanthogenates is possible. Other questions concerned dwarf flowering shrubs for the garden or a GDR recipe for Zigeunerschnitzel.

📊Data processing and analysis

In the field of data processing I used Manus AI for a very wide range of tasks.

• Over several years we kept an Excel sheet in which we recorded the prices of our grocery purchases. From this table the AI determined the average inflation rate. For this the table was completely "overhauled" by Manus AI and brought into a form that made the desired analysis possible in the first place. Not surprisingly: the inflation rate determined this way was higher than the figures published by the Federal Statistical Office...
• Over the years I had accumulated numerous compilations of contacts, partly as Excel tables, partly as Access databases. Manus AI merged these into a single table with all the information, with no contact lost and no contact listed twice. From this the AI "built" a mySQL database with an appealing user interface.
• The summarisation of texts of various kinds was also a task that Manus AI accomplished with flying colours.

💻Programming

Website development and optimisation

In the field of web development I specifically used Manus AI to design my online presence. Anyone who has ever written HTML/CSS code knows that there are many potential sources of error. If, for example, a page does not display in the browser as intended and you cannot find the cause of the malfunction yourself, the AI is virtually indispensable. In no time Manus AI analyses the code, finds errors and proposes the solution to fix them. The AI is also a good resource for achieving a website's accessibility.

Quick help for various applications

Manus AI also handles the search for suitable apps for given problems. For example, I searched for an app to remove duplicates from a collection of photographs (Manus tip: dupeGuru). The AI also helped when searching for Android apps to cut out image content. In doing so, Manus AI always provided information on whether the applications were paid or freely available.

Python programmes (for arbitrary purposes)

If Manus AI is not explicitly asked to find a suitable app for a particular problem, the AI develops a Python programme to address the described problem. However, when running the programme you have to manage without a graphical user interface, i.e. for Windows users working on the console via the "Command Prompt".

🎨Multimedia and creative

In the creative area I mainly used the option of Manus AI to generate images from texts.

• To present the course of the Greater Köpenick Round Trip as impressively as possible, I had Manus AI create an animation on the map of the water bodies in the south-east of Berlin. I incorporated this animation into Figure 1 of the Greater Köpenick Round . The prompts for this animation can be accessed here. As can be seen from them, the AI delivered the desired result only after several hints and further requests from me. So you may need to be persistent!
• Similar to Deep Dream Generator or other image AIs, Manus AI can also be used to add images with uploaded personal elements. This worked very well, for example, with personal portraits which were then included in greeting cards with motifs matching the textual instructions.
• The task of translating the lyrics of certain foreign-language songs (e.g. "Inch Allah" by Adamo) was declined by Manus AI with reference to copyright. However, the AI readily provided summaries of the contents of these songs, which served me just as well.
